The Fellowships and Study Abroad Office is on Facebook!

Study Abroad

Students apply to study abroad for one term and complete the application process during their sophomore or junior year to go abroad in the junior or senior year.  Study abroad experienced is a plus when applying for jobs and fellowships such as the NSF graduate study fellowships which put 50% of the selection weight on a student’s broader impact on the world.

Students and parents can go to to find out more about Caltech’s study abroad programs.

Graduating seniors who meet eligibility requirements for grade point and citizenship can consider applying for prestigious fellowships for graduate study in the U.S. or abroad.  These fellowships are sponsored by private foundations and the U.S. or foreign government agencies.  Students and parents can go to to find out more about these prestigious fellowships for graduate study.

Note that Fellowships Advising and Study Abroad does not take questions directly from parents. Parents should encourage their student to use FASA’s online and advising resources to learn more about study abroad and fellowships options.

Honor Your Student in The Big T!

The Big T is Caltech’s yearbook and official historical record. This year, we are offering the chance for you to purchase space in the yearbook for a personal message. By purchasing an advertisement or personal message, you directly support journalism, design, and photography on campus. You could also congratulate a graduate in your family on their achievement. Your submission will be featured in a special section of the yearbook and fill either a quarter, a half, or a full page. The deadline for submission is July 1, 2018. If you require our designers to create your advertisement, you must submit earlier, by June 1, 2018.
