Caltech Bands Perform at May 11 Bandorama

PASADENA, Calif. — The 23rd annual Bandorama featuring the California Institute of Technology Jazz Bands and Concert Band will take place Saturday, May 11, at 8 p.m. in Beckman Auditorium on the Caltech campus. It is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

This concert will feature trombonist Les Benedict, who has performed with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Quincy Jones, Elvis Presley, and Joe Zawinul. Also featured on the program will be a performance of "Gandalf," from the "Lord of the Rings Suite" by Johan de Meij. There will also be music by P.D.Q. Bach and Sousa.

Beckman Auditorium will be electronically "enhanced" for the concert with the aid of a group from Level Control Systems of Sierra Madre.

The conductor will be William Bing, music lecturer at Caltech.
