The Caltech Y Gets a New Home

The Caltech Y will begin moving into the Tyson House (505 S. Wilson) on Thursday, August 25, and will reopen in the new location on September 6.

"This will enable us to celebrate our 95th year in a new space," says Athena Castro, executive director of the Caltech Y. "Wherever we go, we will continue to provide the high level of service and the quality of programs that we always have."

The Y's mission is "to enrich student life and challenge students to grow into responsible citizens of the world." The organization was founded by students in 1916 and has been housed at its current location just north of the Athenaeum since 2004.

Castro says that the Caltech Y plans to host an open house in the fall and that the staff hopes that everyone will stop by to see the Y in its new home.
